Welcome to Animal Rescue Front

Massachusetts • Est. 2005

Located in Massachusetts, and founded in September 2005 immediately following Hurricane Katrina, Animal Rescue Front has never given up on the animals of the Gulf Coast.

Each month our adoptees take the trip from Mississippi, a high-kill state where companion animal overpopulation is a crisis and legal protections are minimal, to the Northeast where they are placed into loving homes.

All of our animals come north spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated.

ARF Team

Chris McLaughlin

Board President & Founder

Chris's life's purpose became clear when the floods of Katrina receded. The toll the disaster took ignited a passion that continues today. She is the author of Mississippi Barking: Hurricane Katrina and a Life that Went to the Dogs, and lives with her Louisiana kitty, Tee Talullah, in Massachusetts.

"ARF's work will live on because of the lives we met, the lives we saved, and the lives we lost."

Robyn Ochs

Executive Director

Robyn and her wife live in Boston, Massachusetts. They adopted their first Mississippi cat shortly after Hurricane Katrina. Their current household consists of Percy, their second Mississippi cat, and two local cats rescued from the street. Robyn loves volunteering her time and resources to causes that matter.

Gabby Savage

Team Member

Gabby discovered ARF in 2015 when she adopted Maverick. Over four years, she and her firefighter husband, Tom, adopted three more ARF dogs. With over 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine, joining ARF was the natural next step. They live in central Massachusetts with their ARF dogs: Maverick, Goose, and Logan.

Dennis Slade

Technology Consultant

Dennis is a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based consultant who helps small-to-medium size non-profits affordably maximize their technology capabilities. Besides loving all dogs everywhere, he is a certified tennis fanatic and dedicated genealogist.

Albert M Wisialko

ARF Accountant

Albert works at A. Wisialko and Co., a successful accounting firm in Massachusetts. He has adopted an ARF rescue dog, Chet, from Mississippi. He has three children and promotes the Animal Rescue Front's commitment to rescue animals in any way that he can.
